Small-batch compost made from food scraps is a sustainable and eco-friendly process that involves collecting organic scraps such as fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, and eggshells from local residents in Miami and Broward counties. Over a period of several weeks to months, microorganisms break down the materials, resulting in a dark, crumbly compost that enriches soil with nutrients, improves its structure, and supports healthy plant growth, making it an ideal solution for recycling food waste and creating nutrient-rich soil for small-scale gardening projects. Each bag contains about 50lbs of compost.

We have found a creative and sustainable way to repurpose bags from local breweries by utilizing them to fill with our compost. These bags, originally intended for carrying Barley Malt, are given a second life as vessels for organic waste. By partnering with breweries in the area, we not only divert these bags from ending up in landfills but also promote a circular economy by repurposing them for an environmentally friendly cause. Our composting initiative benefits from these sturdy, reusable bags, allowing us to efficiently collect and distribute nutrient-rich compost to local gardens, farms, and members of our community.
